The Big ‘O’
Hola my internet familia!Another late night is upon me and as I kick my feet up,reach for a scrumptious snickerdoodle cookie, and continue my quest for a medal (or any kind of accolade!) in the fictitious sport of channel surfing,I anxiously remember the treasure so lovingly stored by my DVR: the season premiere of Oprah!Within a few swift clicks,I am watching the always awesome John Travolta (Danny Zuko forever!) and the jaw dropping and drool inducing surprises the episode had in store (Miss O taking her entire audience of 300 on a dream trip down under-yowza!).As they showed lots of misty water colored memories from the past 23 years of the Oprah show,I reluctantly admit to all of you fine folks that I got a wee choked up and yes, even teary eyed. For those who may have been living under a rock recently (no judgment on my end-I’m all for becoming one with the earth hehe),the proverbial fat lady is singin’ and this tragically is the final season we will be graced with her t.v. presence.Sadness!!Oprah is a true icon in every sense of the word (trust me,I looked it up on dictionary.com) and has done innumerable humanitarian deeds and has meant so much to so many and changed countless lives, how can you not worship this woman?I urge any of the Oprah critics out there (though I choose to believe this type of person doesn’t exist, like Santa Claus or a gay republican) to give this television phenom who whatever she touches turns to solid gold (Dr.Phil and Nate Berkus,I know you feel me!) the beyond deserved props this goddess of the small screen deserves. She has touched more lives than most of us could ever dream of and given us thought provoking and compelling shows and interviews asking the blunt questions only she could get away with, and she is most certainly irreplaceable. So Oprah, this is my love letter to you,and I want everyone to know that I’m not only the Oprah fan club president-I’m also a client : )
